Audio Filter Kit

The Vectronics Super CW Filter kit is an inexpensive way to add sharp, narrow filtering to any transceiver or receiver.  It works on the audio output from the receiver-- just connect it to the headphone or speaker jack.  Connect your headphones or a speaker on the output of the filter and enjoy QRM free code.

The rotary switch provides for four filter settings-- bypass, 180Hz, 110Hz, and an almost unbelievable 80Hz.  On the 80Hz setting, the sharp skirts provide for 50dB suppression a mere octave away from the 750Hz center frequency.  

A built-in 1W audio amplifier provides plenty of power to overcome any losses in the filter, and drive headphones or a small speakerfilter.  The amplification also allows you to reduce the input level, preventing distortion.

Eight poles of active filtering provide for a 15dB improvement in signal to noise ratio.  There is very little ringing, no impedance matching is required, and there is no insertion loss.  The filter runs on 9VDC (battery clip is included).  The kit includes everything you need except input and output jacks.  It's small enough to build into many radios, or build it into any convenient project box. At $29.95 the performance of the Super CW Filter rivals that of units that cost much, much more.
