Evolution of the Sprite...

Above is a picture of the first prototype, which LTA made from rough specifications in July, 2001.  Apart from the obvious refinements, the prototype is about 20% larger than the final design. A first pass at the Christmas key engraving locations has been added to the image as text labels.

      

From left to right, the artwork for the engraving, an engraved base before gold plating, and machining of lock nuts. The MX Sprite does not have the Christmas 2001 engraving and serial number.
